Certification and Teacher Training for ESL,EFL,TESOL (in Canada)

In an attempt to cut down on the large number of organizations offering TEFL certification and TEFL courses, I've decided to begin breaking it down by country. On this page, you'll find schools, colleges, and other organizations who offer a TESL, TEFL, TESOL or other English teaching course in Canada.

I've mentioned this on other pages, but it bears repeating: some employers will weigh a TEFL certification from Canada, the US, or England as being automatically better than one gained in a non-English-speaking country. This is sometimes valid, but is sometimes simply a matter of prejudice. Please be sure to research any school before you decide to spend the money to attend! You can search the Internet, browse teacher forums, and generally do a bit of homework yourself and try to find if the school is reputable. As prices range a great deal, you'll want to make sure you're making the most of your teacher-training dollar (or pound, or Euro)!

NOTE: being listed on this site (or ANY website!) is not a guarantee of legitimacy. Anyone, after all, can set up their own "TEFL course" website. As always, you see something or run into something you found here and you feel it's a scam or fraudulent in any way, notify me immediately! (You may want to be particularly careful of companies whose sites or email addresses are hosted with free services such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Netfirms, Tripod, Prohosting, Hypermart etc.) Now, good luck! --Kristina
