Linguistics - Computational Linguistics

Since I was in graduate school, Computational Linguistics has fascinated me. Natural language is so complex, and "acceptable usage" varies so widely, how can a computer program ever really understand and process language effectively? One only has to look at "grammar checker" programs to see how difficult it is to make sense of natural language in a computerized environment. On this page are several links to references, information, software, and various projects related to computational linguistics, natural language processing, and so forth including links to some academic departments of Computational Linguistics across the globe.
